Expomóvil Banreservas 2026 closes with more than RD$9,985 million in financing and 4,200 vehicles

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic — Banco de Reservas concluded Expomóvil Banreservas 2026 on Sunday with approved financing of more than RD$9,985 million, the institution's executive president, Leonardo Aguilera, said at the close of the fair held from October 29 to November 1.

During the four days of the event, loan applications exceeding RD$30,000 million were received, a 20% increase over last year's edition. In addition, more than 4,200 vehicles were financed, a figure that represents a 12% increase compared with 2025, according to Aguilera.

Of the total units financed, 70% were traditional personal-use vehicles, 14% were commercial vehicles, 10% were used or pre-owned units, and 6% were hybrid and electric vehicles. Fifty-five percent of the financing was processed by people aged 25 to 45, a figure that reflects the weight of young buyers in the Dominican auto market.

The fair offered rates starting at 6.85%, financing of up to 90% of the vehicle's value, terms of up to seven years, and the option to start payments in February 2027, conditions that, according to the state bank, boosted demand over the long weekend.

Seguros Reservas also reported growth during Expomóvil 2026. Its executive vice president, Luis Valdez, said the insurer recorded billed premiums of RD$129.8 million, a 19.89% increase over the RD$108.3 million of the previous year.

With the fair's close, Banco de Reservas highlighted the result as a sign of the dynamism of consumer credit in the country, at a time when Dominican families are taking advantage of promotional rates to renew their vehicles before the end of the year.
