Dominican Republic: Abinader inaugurates two schools, a childcare center and works in San Pedro de Macorís

San Pedro de Macorís — President Luis Abinader is carrying out a schedule of inaugurations this Saturday, October 31, in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, where he will hand over two schools, a childcare center, a technical-vocational training center and a fire protection and water supply system at the free trade zone, according to the Presidency.

The day began at 11:00 a.m. with the inauguration of the Maestra Altagracia Hernández Basic School, located in batey Soco, which has 11 classrooms. The president then opened the Profesor César Agustín González Primary School, in Boca de Cumayasa, which has 15 classrooms.

According to official information, both schools will add a total of 26 classrooms to the educational infrastructure of these communities, an effort to expand school capacity in areas outside the province's urban center, such as batey Soco and Boca de Cumayasa.

As part of his tour, Abinader also inaugurated the Santa Fe-Infotep project, a technical-vocational training facility with 24 classrooms for job training and preparation programs. Technical training is a constant demand among young people in the province, who seek to enter the local labor market.

The head of state also put into operation the Fire Protection and Water Supply System of the San Pedro de Macorís Free Trade Zone, a project aimed at strengthening the operating infrastructure and safety of that industrial park, a key source of jobs in the area.

The presidential agenda also includes the inauguration of the Barrio Lindo Childcare Center, a facility offering care services for children in early childhood, and will conclude with a meeting with young people from different communities at the Museo del Pelotero Petromacorisano, where the president will hear their concerns and learn about their aspirations and development opportunities.
