Laura Bozzo hospitalized in emergency in Mexico; her condition is "serious but stable"
MEXICO CITY. — Peruvian television host Laura Bozzo was admitted on emergency this Tuesday to a hospital in Mexico City due to a series of health complications, including pneumonia, a collapsed left lung, lesions on her bronchial walls, cysts in her kidneys and liver and a presumed enlargement of her heart, her assistant and spokesperson Aarón Guerrero reported.
Guerrero said Bozzo's condition is "serious but stable" and pushed back against rumors circulating on social media about her death. "There has been a lot of speculation about her condition, even about whether she has already died. She is evolving well, but her health can decline like anyone's," he told the Colombian outlet.
Days before the hospitalization, several Mexican outlets had reported that the host underwent surgery in Acapulco for a gastric complication, adding to the list of ailments facing the television figure.
Bozzo is best known for her talk shows "Laura en América," which aired from the 1990s to the early 2000s, and "Laura," broadcast by the Univision network in the United States —formats that shaped Hispanic television of their era.
