United States: nearly 55 million have already voted early ahead of Tuesday's elections
Washington — A total of 54,390,864 Americans have already cast early ballots for this Tuesday's November 3 midterm elections, according to data from the University of Florida's Election Lab released on Monday, a figure the Prensa Latina news agency rounds to nearly 55 million.
The volume already exceeds the 45.9 million early votes recorded during the entire period before the 2022 elections, setting a record for a midterm vote. Of the ballots counted, more than 28.1 million were cast in person at early voting sites and the rest correspond to mail ballots returned to election authorities.
The figure updates the tally A Lo Claro published on Sunday, when the total stood above 53 million, and confirms intense mobilization on the eve of Election Day.
In New York State, 1,851,563 people voted early between October 24 and November 1, across the state's 62 counties, according to the same count.
The Latino vote also shows a jump: the organization Voto Latino reports more than 5.2 million early Hispanic votes, growth of over 80% compared with the 2022 midterm elections.
On Tuesday, all 435 House seats, 35 Senate seats and 36 governorships will be decided, along with state and local offices, in elections that will define the balance of power in Washington at the midpoint of President Donald Trump's term.
