Santo Domingo. Premium gasoline and optimal diesel are rising by RD$4.00 per gallon starting this Saturday, November 7, in the Dominican Republic, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) announced on Friday. Premium gasoline will sell for RD$362.10 per gallon and optimal diesel for RD$322.10, prices in effect through Friday, November 13.

By contrast, the most widely consumed fuels remain frozen: regular gasoline stays at RD$317.50 per gallon, regular diesel at RD$270.80 and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at RD$135.20. Jet fuel also falls, down RD$16.34 to RD$340.48, along with kerosene and fuel oil. Natural gas remains at RD$43.97 per cubic meter.

To sustain those prices, the government will allocate RD$1,139.1 million in subsidies during the week, according to the MICM. The state will absorb RD$94.53 per gallon of regular diesel, RD$82.82 of optimal diesel, RD$65.11 of LPG and RD$15.45 of regular gasoline.

With this week, fuel subsidies already exceed RD$44,000 million so far in 2026, more than four times the RD$11,000 million budgeted for this purpose. The MICM attributed the pressure to international prices for refined products: since late February, gasoline has risen 60 percent, regular diesel 69 percent, optimal diesel 71 percent and LPG 113.7 percent, while WTI crude rose 37 percent. The average exchange rate used for the calculation was RD$60.79 per dollar, according to the Central Bank.
