Canelo Álvarez returns to the ring this Saturday in Riyadh against unbeaten Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez returns to the ring this Saturday, October 31, to challenge unbeaten Christian Mbilli for the World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight world title, in the main event of the 'Mexico vs The World' card, held in Riyadh.
The Mexican, with a record of 63 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws, 39 of them by knockout, fights again 13 months after losing his crown to Terence Crawford in September 2025. Across the ring will be Mbilli, a French-Cameroonian based in Canada, unbeaten with 29 wins, one draw and 24 knockouts, who will put on the line the belt he inherited after Crawford's retirement.
The bout is scheduled for 12 rounds at super middleweight, 168 pounds. According to DAZN, the platform carrying the card on pay-per-view, the fighters' ring walks are expected at around 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time in the United States. The full card features 10 bouts, with several Mexican boxers facing international rivals.
The fight was initially scheduled for September 12, also in Riyadh, but a family matter delayed the start of Álvarez's training camp and forced a date change. It will be the second time the Guadalajara native fights in Saudi Arabia, as part of the Riyadh Season.
In Mexico, the broadcast will be handled by TV Azteca, while the rest of the world can follow the card on DAZN. The official weigh-in took place on Friday, October 30, as the final face-off between the two boxers before they step into the ring.
